History

Harmonizing in the Triad area since 1969!
Our chorus chartered with Sweet Adelines International under the name of Golden Triad Chorus in 1969 and has been an active performing group throughout the Triad area of Winston-Salem, High Point, and Greensboro, North Carolina, for 40+ years.  In 2018 we changed our name to Triad A Cappella Connection (TAC) to reflect our primary objective of connecting our love of a cappella harmony with the community.  The chorus sings four-part harmony, in barbershop style.  Our repertoire includes a variety of music from old standards to contemporary, show tunes and patriotic to spiritual.

Our chorus has won first place in regional competition three times and has competed four times in International contests, placing second in the small chorus division in San Antonio, Texas, in 2000.  Our third place medal in small chorus division in regional competition in May 2005 resulted in an invitation to compete in the small chorus division at the Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio in August 2005, where we placed third in the small chorus division.

We are proud that In regional competition in 2009 and 2010 we achieved and maintained B scores, with a B+ in the "showmanship" category in 2009.

In the Spring of 2018 AND 2019 we competed in the Open Division of Region 14 Competition and proudly won the Audience Choice award both years.
